September 9, 2011 . . . We start the section on prayer next week and anticipate the first exam in 1-1/2 to 2 weeks. Have a safe, good, holy weekend!

September 13, 2011 . . . The first exam is scheduled for September 21. Please begin studying!

September 15, 2011 . . . Put some good effort into your studies for the exam. Remember that I will be in Detroit for the Vocation Director Convention from Sep 17 – Sep 20. I’ll be praying for you!

September 26, 2011 . . . Term Project sheets have been handed out and the papers are due October 21. They can be handed in anytime before the 21st. We began studying the Old Testament in depth today, anticipating a date of October 11 for the 2nd 100-point exam. Reading through the first 3 chapters of Genesis, though not required, would be helpful.

October 20, 2011 . . . Term projects are due tomorrow and MUST be turned in by 3pm. In class, we have begun a section on John Paul II’s “Theology of the Body.” Also, High School Youth Rally forms should be turned in as soon as possible. October 31, 2011 . . . We will finish up the section on the Theology of the Body this Wednesday, review on Friday, and the exam will be Wednesday, November 9. As you study, pay particular attention to the vocabulary terms.

November 2 . . . Review on Friday, Exam #3 on Wednesday, November 9. PLEASE STUDY!

November 8 . . . Theology of the Body exam tomorrow! Matching = 22pts, Short answer/definitions = 30pts, True/False = 22pts, Long answer = 16pts. Study well J

November 15 . . . Great job on the last exam – I’m proud of you!

                          The next exam (and last of the term) is on Monday, November 21. It will cover Exodus.

                          Begin memorizing the 10 plagues and the 10 Commandments. Also, I will collect journals on

                          November 17 and notebooks before the test on November 21. The term ends on November 23.

There is a 20-point quiz on Tuesday, December 6 – 10 questions directly off of the prophets worksheet.

December 6 . . . Happy St. Nicholas Day! As we continue through 1 and 2 Samuel, make sure you are reviewing the scriptures I list on the board. Even though we are reading them together in class, you will need to know them well in preparation for the test. Let’s keep each other in prayer during this Advent season!

December 8 . . . Happy Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, patroness of the United States J We will soon finish the section on David and Prophecy – the exam will be on Wednesday, December 14. I know you are excited to show me how well you know this material!

December 12, 2011 . . . Happy Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas! Test on Wednesday: True or False – 32 points, Short Answer – 40 points, Long Answer – 16 points, Essay – 12 points. You must reread your assigned scriptures to do well. The essay requires you to incorporate specific information. I’ll hold a review/study session tomorrow, December 13, at 3pm in the library.

December 14, 2011 . . . Thank you for your efforts in studying for today’s exam. I will make every effort to post your grades as soon as possible.

December 19, 2011 . . .We’ll watch “The Bells of St. Mary’s” today and finish Wednesday. A 1-page, 20-point paper will then be assigned. Each student will describe where they saw the 5 elements of the Mercy Charism demonstrated in the film.

December 21, 2011 . . . May the Christ child bless and keep you safe during this Christmas season and always. You are all in my prayers!!

January 3, 2012 . . . Review the Psalms that we read in class. The next exam will be on January 17.

January 9, 2012 . . . We’ll finish the notes today (I hope) and be prepared to review on Wednesday. The Psalms and Wisdom Literature exam is on January 17. Remember to study the Psalms we highlighted in class. The term project was handed out and is due on February 10.

January 11, 2012 . . . Tuesday’s exam consists of 13fill in the blank, 5 scripture fill in the blank, 17 short answer, 1 listing and one 20 point essay. You have to know the 5 Wisdom Literature books and the 6 “big questions” that Wisdom Literature deals with. Study well!

January 19, 2012 . . . We began the “Foundations of the Faith” section today. Fill in the handout questions as we go through the material in class. Check out the “YOUCAT” page on-line for more answers about the Faith. Remember to be working on your term projects.

January 23, 2012 . . . Remember that the term projects are due on February 10. It’s a good idea to review the Foundations of the Faith material on a nightly basis. Let’s keep everyone at MPS in prayer.

February 2, 2012 . . . Happy Feast of Candlemas! Service Hour forms were collected today. The Term Project is due next Friday, February 10 and the next exam is also on that date. Keep reviewing the Foundations of the Faith notes.

February 22, 2012 . . . The next exam – the last for this term – will be on Thursday, March 1. It will cover our New Testament introductory material, including the memorization of the 27 NT books. Remember that I will also be grading notebooks and journals. Hopefully, we’ll have time for one more journal entry. Have a great Lent!

February 24, 2012 . . . Journals to be turned in for grading on Tuesday, February 28. Exam on Thursday, March 1. Notebooks submitted for grade on March 1. Have a great weekend!
