Philosophy

We hope to afford each camper the opportunity to expand their skills in the game of basketball. Although ability levels may differ, the skills being taught will help each camper become a better individual basketball player and even more importantly, a better teammate.

Camp Costs

Tuition for camp is $95.00. The total cost includes:

• Week-long program of instruction
• Camp T-shirt
• Contests, games and awards
• A challenging and learning environment

Mercyhurst Prep Basketball

Summer Basketball is a mainstay at Mercyhurst Prep. Members of the ‘09-’10 Western Finalist Laker squad, who finished the season with a 24-4 season record and a Region 4 Title, will work with the head J.V. and assistant varsity coach Sean Baer in developing fundamental skills of the game.

Campers can expect to sharpen passing, ball handling, and shooting abilities as well as man to man defensive strategies that can be used in games. Daily contests and drills will be a part of a the competitive, fun, and energy filled atmosphere that awaits each participant.

About The Director

Coach Sean Baer has been in the Mecyhurst program for the last ten years.

In his first six years he was the head freshmen coach and for the last three years J.V. head coach and varsity assistant. Coach Baer has the proven ability to develop young players, who come from various grade and middle schools, into capable varsity athletes.

Over the course of the past nine years Baer’s teams have amassed over 163 wins and many memorable moments. He brings much energy and enthusiasm into the gym where his players develop discipline and fundamentals.

Coach Baer is presently a Government and Economics teacher at Mercyhurst Prep.
