In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the NAHS program specifically for high school students in grades 10-12 for the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of their highest potential in art, and bring art education to the attention of the school and community
2011-2012 Goals
- Plan a November reception for new NAHS inductees
- Send artwork by NAHS members to the NAEA conference held in Gettysburg, Pa.
- Raise money to purchase one or two weather-proof picnic tables to be placed on the back patio of the school so students will have the opportunity to draw outside.
- Paint a mural for a non-profit organization in the local area
- Assist with art-related activities in the school community
- Attend local art exhibits as a group
