Test/Audition/Interview Dates

The results of the tests, interviews and auditions will be given to students
on scheduling night, May 7, 2008.

Math Placement Test/Writing Sample

All students are required to sit for a math placement test and produce a writing sample from a prompt.  Room assignments will be posted at the entrances.  Students should bring pencils to the test.  

The Math Placement Test/Writing Sample will be on 
Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 9:00-11:00 a.m.

 World Language Placement Test

Students who have completed a full year or the equivalent of French I or Spanish I may wish to take a placement test for the next level.  

Language testing will take place on 
Wednesday, April 30, 2008 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in room 104

Show Choir

The show choir class requires an audition.  Students auditioning for Show Choir should have a song prepared (bring music for the accompanist) and be dressed comfortably for movement.  Show Choir auditions will be held in conjunction with the auditions for C.T.E., Concert Choir and Musical Production.

Monday, April 28, 2008 at 3:15 p.m. in the lower auditorium.

 Dance Company

The Dance Company class requires an audition.  Students auditioning for Dance Company must have a dance number prepared (no longer than two minutes).

 Children's Theatre Ensemble

The Children's Theatre Ensemble (CTE) class requires an audition.  Students interested in auditioning for CTE should have a children's monologue prepared that should not be longer than two minutes.  CTE auditions will be in conjunction with the auditions for Show Choir, Concert Choir and Musical Production.

Musical Production

The Musical Production class requires an audition.   Students auditioning should have a song prepared (bring music for the accompanist) and be dressed comfortably for movement.   The audition will be held in conjunction with the auditions for C.T.E., Concert Choir and Show Choir.

 Yearbook

Students wishing to take the Yearbook class must submit a brief essay (roughly 150 words) expressing their interest and qualifications in working on the yearbook staff.  

Student should submit essay by Monday, April 28, 2008 by:

  • Dropping it off at Mercyhurst Prep
    Students may bring it with them to the Math Placement Test

Journalism I

Students wishing to take the Journalism class must submit a brief essay (roughly 150 words) expressing their interest and qualifications in working on the newspaper staff.
