Mercyhurst Prep

Mercyhurst Prep offers need-based financial aid to deserving students. Needbased financial aid applicants are handled by FACTS Grant and Aid. Forms can be mailed to all current and future students in January and will be available online. March 1, 2008 is the due date for MPS Financial Aid. In order to qualify, please be sure that all areas of the form are completed before submitting it. Those applying for need-based aid from MPS must also complete the Tuition Assistance application from the Diocese of Erie (see below).

FACTS

Grant and Aid Assessment, a service of FACTS Management Company, is designed to assist schools with their financial aid allocation. You will need to set up a username and password to login to the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment website. Once you have registered and signed in, you will have the ability to complete the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment application online. If you submitted a paper application, you will be able to check the status of your application as it is being processed.Click on the link below to register for completing FACTS online.


 


Diocese of Erie

The Catholic Diocese of Erie offers need-based financial aid to deserving students regardless of religious background. Any student applying for financial aid must submit to the Diocese of Erie the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application by March 1, 2008. This form may be obtained from Mercyhurst Prep, any Catholic elementary school, or the Diocesan Catholic Schools Office and the Diocesan website, click on the link below to download the application form.

Scholarship Awards/Grants
2008 - 2009

We at Mercyhurst Prep are committed to keeping the costs of education affordable. Our aim is to make our quality education accessible to as many students as possible.

In addition to the Diocesan Tuition Assistance Program, MPS offers a variety of financial alternatives. Eligibility for
most forms of aid is based on need. Scholarships are granted in the areas of academics, arts, and activities.

SCHOLARSHIPS

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
All students with high academic standing who wish to apply for MPS scholarships must submit a scholarship form to the MPS Finance Office by March 1, 2008. Upper grade students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above to qualify.

ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP
Applicant must be the child/stepchild, grandchild or great - grandchild of a Mercyhurst Seminary/Preparatory School graduate. Only students entering ninth grade may apply. Two scholarships of $750 each are available, one academic and one based on financial need. These scholarships are renewable each year provided that a B average and proper behavior standards are maintained.

CREATIVE ARTS
The student must present evidence of artistic talent through a required audition and/or portfolio. Grants will be awarded in the areas of art, dance, music, and theatre.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE
The student must have completed two years of a foreign language at MPS and be registered for the third year. High academic standing in the language course is required

Applicants must reapply on a yearly basis for all scholarships and financial aid awards.
