Baseball, America’s favorite pastime, is played
here as well as it is played at any school in the
area. MPS is a consistent threat to win in the
District 10 playoffs and beyond every year.
Baseball is offered at both the varsity and junior
varsity levels. Having our own field enhances
the program immensely. In ’99, they won the
Metro league title. In ’02, the team captured the
District 10 AA championship and advanced to the
PIAA Western Finals..

Softball is offered for girls who have what it
takes to play this fantastic sport. As with
baseball, MPS has a varsity and junior varsity
team. They were District 10 champions in ’88, ’03, and ’04 and Metro league champions in ’01.
Boys Tennis lends itself the opportunity for our
players to demonstrate their physical and mental
toughness in this demanding game.
Track is a chance to get outdoors and run, jump
and throw for MPS. This is a great experience
for many as the competitor’s athletic talents
become evident during a meet. The MPS boys
captured the District 10 AA championship in ’02.
Many individuals have won Metro League, and
D-10 championships, and havecompeted at the
state meet.
Crew is the sport that really sets MPS apart from
all other schools in the area. The student-athlete
is given the opportunity to row on the bay of
beautiful Lake Erie as well as on the waterways
across the country and into Canada. Weekend
regattas are the proving grounds for this
extremity prestigious and traditional sport. Our
coaching staff brings experience and enthusiasm
that help make this sport a unique experience
that often leads to college scholarships.
