Black Friday Bash

We are excited that the Alumni Black Friday Bash is returning this year to an in-person event. Join us on Friday, November 26, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Calamari’s Squid Row, 1317 State Street, for a fun night out with your fellow MPS alumni. We’ll have delicious appetizers, prizes, a cash bar, and the chance to catch up with your Laker family.

Stay Connected with Laker Legacy

Legacy is Mercyhurst Prep’s newsletter for Laker alumni.

Legacy is a way for you to stay connected to MPS and learn about the exciting lives of our alumni friends. Stories will feature MPS alumni, current students, events, and different things taking place in the world of Mercyhurst Prep. Legacy will be emailed quarterly so that you have something to look forward to in between issues of our bi-annual magazine, MPScapades.

Do you have something exciting to share, or do you know a fellow alum who you think should be featured here or in MPScapades?! Share your stories by emailing Lyn Potalivo at, or you can always visit the MPS website and submit your updates at!

Want to subscribe to receive Legacy quarterly? Just send an email to Lyn Potalivo at and include the following:

  1. first name
  2. last name
  3. maiden name (if applicable)
  4. email address
  5. grad year

Laker Alumni Mentor Program

LAMP is a mentorship program inspired by the work and passion of Fr. Michael Allison.

LAMP helps connect MPS alumni with current students for career and professional mentorship. The goal of the program is to provide resources for MPS students so they can learn more about and explore different professions. We hope that through our vast alumni network, we can help light the way for the current Lakers to find their passion and explore new things. We want to show them how Lakers really can be anything and everything.  We also hope to help recent grads and other alumni who may be job hunting, looking to change careers, or want to network and connect with fellow alums to help advance their careers.

Keep in Touch

We want to stay in touch with you! Although you leave the halls of Mercyhurst Prep, that does not mean you are forgotten. We would love to stay connected with you. Go to Keep in Touch to update your information so we can keep you up to date with what’s happening in the world of MPS. We also want to know what exciting things are happening in your life so share your updates and success with us in the MPScapades section.

We do our best to keep up with changes in contact information for our alumni, but it is a daunting task. Would you please help us by looking for MPS alumni for whom we do not have a current address, email, or phone number? Please take a minute and see if you or anyone you know might be on the list. Even if your name does not appear on the list that does not guarantee that we have your current contact information so please feel free to still submit an update or reach out to Lyn Potalivo at to check on your information.

Alumni Business Directory

Through our continued efforts to support our graduates, we have created an Alumni Business Directory database to help spread the word and share our alumni’s success as business owners. We hope to strengthen our community ties by encouraging members of the Mercyhurst Prep family to support one another.

If you would like to add your business to the directory, please submit your information for review.

Alumni Board of Governors

The Alumni Board of Governors was created to foster a spirit of unity among the alumni and promote increased loyalty to Mercyhurst Prep. The Board maintains a channel of communication with the school, its operation, and activities; and provides a source of input, financial assistance, and support in the continued growth of Mercyhurst Preparatory School.
