The Performing Arts Boosters is a group open to any parent of a student involved in the Mercyhurst Prep Performing Arts Department. The Performing Arts Boosters supports the department through involvement with performances and fundraising. 

• The Boosters organize parent volunteers to assist at performances:
  • Front of House – box office, flower/candy/photo button sales, raffles, photo buttons, concessions.
  • Backstage – costumes, hair, and make-up.

• Opportunities for students to pay for travel with MPS Performing Arts:
  • The Performing Arts Department plans student travel annually either to perform at Disney World or to see Broadway shows in New York City. Participation is optional as students and their families are responsible for the cost. To help, the Boosters organize fundraisers so students have opportunities to earn money toward travel costs.

• Opportunities to raise funds for the Performing Arts Department:
  • The Boosters organize fundraisers to host student/family events and provide financial support to the Performing Arts Department, as needed, to ensure quality arts education programming.

• The Boosters host an annual welcome back family picnic, as well as tech Sunday lunches, cast/crew/orchestra parties, and parent socials during the fall and spring musicals.

• The Boosters generally meet four times per year with additional meetings scheduled, as needed. Meeting information is shared via email and on the Mercyhurst Prep Performing Arts Facebook and Instagram pages.

  • February – Spring Musical planning
  • July – End-of-year wrap-up and next year planning

• Parent participation is integral to the success of the group and is a great way to meet other MPS families! New faces, ideas, and opportunities are always welcome. Per MPS administration and pertinent regulations, volunteer sign-in forms and appropriate clearance forms are provided/completed for any performing arts event.
