Financial Aid/Scholarship Awards

Mercyhurst Prep is committed to keeping the costs of education affordable. Our aim is to make our quality education accessible to as many students as possible. Our need based aid is handled by FACTS Grant and Financial Aid. Please apply for this online at mpslakers.com/facts. In addition to FACTS you can also apply for the Diocesan Tuition Assistance Program. Academic Scholarship

Effective 2021-2022 school year, ALL STUDENTS are automatically enrolled for an academic scholarship.

Alumni Scholarship

Applicant must be the child/stepchild, grandchild or great-grandchild of a Mercyhurst Seminary/Preparatory School graduate. Only students entering ninth grade may apply. The number and amounts of each alumni scholarship vary but all are renewable each year provided the Laker maintains 2.3 QPA and appropriate behavioral standards are maintained.

Creative Arts Scholarship

Eligible students demonstrate artistic talent through a required audition and /or portfolio. Grants will be awarded in the areas of art, dance, music, and theatre.

The Catherine McAuley Scholarship

The Catherine McAuley Scholarship, in memory of Msgr. John R. Snyder, is offered to incoming freshman currently attending a Catholic feeder school. The student must submit a one page essay (typed-double spaced) on why their Catholic education is so important to them. The one-time $1,000 scholarship will be based on the essay with consideration given to those in financial need. The essay should be returned with your scholarship application by March 1, 2021.
