MPS Football Camp is a three-day youth football camp that will be held on June 22-24 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Coach Root, his staff along with former and current players would like to invite aspiring football players, ages 7-13 to attend this camp which will focus on teaching young athletes proper football skills from both the defensive and offensive side of the football, along with proper tackling techniques and special teams. They will also learn the importance of hard work, commitment and dedication in their roles as both a football player and student. as well as other football and life skills. This is a non-contact camp, so the only equipment needed would be shorts, T-shirt and football cleats.

Coach Baer recently finished his 15th season as head coach of the MPS varsity basketball program. Members of the current Laker basketball team and coaching staff will teach ball handling, shooting skills, and man-to-man defensive strategies. MPS is host to the area’s only international rowing team, which began in the ‘80s. With our experienced, winning coaches, you will be learning skills that will develop and improve your technique. The atmosphere is relaxed enough to be fun while also providing an informative introduction to the sport of rowing on Presque Isle Bay in our top-of-the-line racing shells. Head Coach David Geiger has been on the staff of the rowing team since 1997. During his time as head coach, the team has won numerous awards on the national and international level. Many of his rowers have been awarded scholarships at some of the top colleges in the country. Join Coach Geiger and his experienced coaching staff, many of whom are dedicated Mercyhurst Prep alumni.

Start your volleyball career early with MPS. Learn basic volleyball skills with the LAKERS volleyball teams. Mornings include a co-ed all-skills camp, including ball control, serving, defense, setting, and attacking in a fun, welcoming atmosphere.  Campers will have the opportunity to explore, develop, and experience the exciting game of volleyball through games and drills led by the players and coaching staff. Camp includes snacks, drinks, and a t-shirt.

Coach Dave Stolar is offering this five-day camp to boys and girls who want to learn more about running. These morning sessions will review the basics of stretching, injury prevention, and proper footwear and include an evaluation of each athlete’s individual running form using the advanced technology of the MPS Dream Lab. The group will also dive deeper into nutrition, pre-race preparation, race strategy, and team building. You can come individually or invite a friend or teammate to attend.

During the Week of Magic, students will be sorted into houses and will attend various Harry Potter–themed classes such as herbology, PLR (Professor Lockhart’s Reenactments), potions, astronomy, and so much more. Young witches and wizards will gather at the Mercyhurst Prep campus of HOGWARTS and will take excursions to the “castle” at Mercyhurst University. Students should dress for a variety of indoor/outdoor games and activities and are welcome to dress in costume. Please bring a bagged lunch. Drinks and snacks will be available.

Summer Performing Arts Workshop (SPAW) is a one-week program that will commence in the Mercyhurst Performing Arts Center (PAC). If you love to sing and dance and enjoy acting, then this is the place for you. Your day will be filled with fun dance combinations and happy songs to sing (for fun or auditions), and you will work on your acting skills as you learn to bring characters to life. We promise a week of musical theatre fun. Students will be grouped according to age. Each day students will experience classes in dance, music, and theatre.

D&D Camp will offer a week of fun and adventure for students. Each day students will explore and investigate elements of world building, from language to coins, geography to architecture. In addition, the camp will engage students in a D&D campaign where they can design their characters to tackle any challenges that may lie ahead.
